    MAKRÍA (from the Greek word μακριά meaning "far away") is an itinerary in music, which blooms and travels the Mediterranean basin, a place of life, passages and encounters, until it reaches the immense lands of Northern Europe, where silences keep enriching this fertile journey.

    Each original composition represents a stage of this musical Odyssey of which Ithaca is unknown. Marco Vecchio, Makrìa’s founder, meets his three traveling companions thus giving birth to the project. This work is imbued with multiple sounds from different cultures, held together by Afro-American jazz, the key glue, and thus creates a colorful, nuanced language, a set of emotions which try to touch the souls of the world.

    MAKRÍA (dal greco makrià (μακριά) “lontano”) è un itinerario in musica che nasce e percorre il bacino del Mediterraneo, luogo di vita, passaggi e incontri, raggiunge gli immensi spazi del Nord Europa, dove i silenzi arricchiscono questo viaggio, fertile già di per sé.

    Le composizioni, tutte originali, rappresentano ognuna una tappa di questa Odissea musicale di cui non si conosce Itaca. Marco Vecchio ideatore di Makrìa, incontra i suoi tre compagni di viaggio dando così vita al progetto, intriso di molteplici sonorità, poiché provenienti da culture diverse, tenute insieme dal jazz afro-americano, collante chiave, e creando così un linguaggio variopinto, ricco di sfumature, un insieme di emozioni che provano a toccare le anime del mondo.
